American Ray Villafane takes pumpkin carving to another level. Drawing on his background in art and his work in designing models for DC, Ray sculpts intricate horrific faces out of pumpkins.
美国设计师Ray Villafane将南瓜雕刻艺术推上了另一个高峰~~此人是学艺术的，还给美国第一大漫画公司DC设计过人物形象（超人和蝙蝠侠就是DC家的），他用南瓜雕刻出了一系列恐怖的鬼脸~~

小编想说这个拉链zipper是怎么雕出来的……这个可以拉上不……那么是不是可以拉上来拉下去造成鬼脸时隐时现的效果（哪那么多废话！

He says. "The most important thing about a pumpkin is its weight. I also like a pumpkin with character."
他说，必须挑选有分量的南瓜，而不是看这个南瓜长得好不好看，因为皮不够厚的话就雕不出来这么复杂的花样。他还喜欢有性格的南瓜（也就是长得奇形怪状可以顺势雕出这么纠结的老人脸的南瓜么）

His pumpkins have become something of an internet sensation, and have led to appearances on prime time American networks. This one is called 'Shattered'.
他的南瓜雕刻在网上很火，还上过美国黄金时段的电视。这个作品名叫“砸烂了”

"I used to be an art teacher at a Michigan school and one day I was approached to do some pumpkin carving. I thought why don't I try and carve the pumpkin like it is a piece of clay as opposed to a large vegetable. It came out alright, but the most important result was that the kids at the school absolutely loved it. I used to arrive at school and there would be a dozen pumpkins just sitting there waiting for me at my classroom"

这家伙叫“咬指甲的东东”——还是说这个可以当成水浒里青面兽杨志同学的Q版~~

注：nail biter字面意思是“咬指甲的人”，可以比喻恐怖电影、令人害怕的东西，因为人一害怕就会不由自主地咬指甲~
