Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.

那recycly和upcycly到底有什么区别？

我们知道，recycle是将材料完全分解，制成完全不一样的物品，这其中当然也涉及到能源消耗啦。

相较而言，upcycle则是“using something in a new way without doing anything to reprocess the material it's made from（换一种方式使用这样物品，而不对它进行任何原材料的改造）”。这样是不是更加节省能源呢？

我们生活中upcycle的例子也很多，比如说：

Take an old shirt that someone won't wear just because they've dropped a tiny bit of balsamic vinegar on it, printing over the top of it and perhaps cutting into it to make it fit with current trends.
