My name is Maria Lucia Zapata.I am from Bogota,the capital of Columbia.It's been very very tough for us.A complete generation has been raised under a framework of violence.
Everybody said we need to work for business to do something about it because we cannot continue in the same path as we are at this moment.
The University of Notre Dame is committed to helping communities in Columbia resolve conflict in a non-violent manner.Internationally recognized for his pioneering work in peace building.Professor John Paul Lederach is leading that endeavor.
It's been an increasing effort to bring the activities of the classroom to the actual communities that are most affected by the conflicts and violence that we're studying.
This is something that we have the duty to do,not only for us,for future generations.
