One day the pirate Modi was out running errands with his mom.

一天，海盗莫迪出去跟妈妈跑腿。

They shopped for groceries and ate peas at his favorite restaurant.

他们去杂货店买了东西，还在他最爱的餐厅吃了豌豆。

Then the pirate Modi's mom said, "Oh yes, we need to stop off at the doctor's office for a quick checkup."

然后海盗莫迪的妈妈说：“哦，对了，我们要到医生办公室那边停一下做个快速检查。”

The doctor checked Modi's heart, his blood pressure, and his knees.

医生给莫迪检查了心脏、血压，还有他的膝盖。

Then he explained that Modi would come back the next day and get a shot,to protect him from scurvy or something.

然后他说，莫迪第二天要再过去打一针，防止患上坏血病什么的。

The pirate Modi did not like shots.

海盗莫迪不喜欢打针。

That evening his father came home and Modi told him all about the visit to the doctor.

那天晚上他的爸爸回来后，莫迪告诉他要去看医生的事。

Modi's father said, "Modi, I know of something that can help you. Take this map and my fastest pirate ship and find it. Also, if you stay very still for the doctor you can have some ice cream."

莫迪的爸爸说：“莫迪，我知道什么可以帮你。来，拿上这个地图还有我最快的海盗船，你就可以找到它。而且，如果你在医生面前乖乖的话，你还可以得到一个冰激凌。”

So Modi followed the map through the wildest seas,

and climbed up volcanoes filled with fierylava,

爬上了充满炽热熔岩的火山，

and sneaked past creatures so terrible that they will not be described in this book,

还偷偷摸摸的经过了一些可怕的怪物。那些怪物实在太可怕了，书里可不会描述。

until he reached an icy castle at the top of the mountains.

最终他到达了山顶的一所冰雪城堡。

Inside, he found a great crab wizard on a crab wizard throne.

城堡里，他遇到了一只坐在蟹王宝座上的巨大螃蟹精。

The crab wizard spoke these words,
"Monkey Pirate, because you have braved many obstacles to get here I will
give you this rock. When you get a shot, you mustsqueeze the rock very
tightly, and count to three. You will be magically taken into the future
where the shot will be finished. Also, you can have some ice cream after."

螃蟹精说：“海盗猴，因为你勇敢的克服了很多困难来到这里，我将给你这块石头。每次你要打针时，紧紧的抓住它，然后数到3.你就会奇迹般的穿越到未来，而那时阵已经打完了。并且之后你还可以享受一点美味的冰激凌。”

The pirate Modi thanked him and sailed back home to get some sleep.

海盗莫迪对他说了谢谢，然后返航回去美美的睡觉。

The next morning, he took the rock with him to the doctor's office.

第二天早上，他去医生办公室，带上了这块石头。

The doctor hummed a little song and filled up Modi's shot.

医生哼着歌准备给他打针。

Modi closed his eyes very tightly,squeezed the rock as hard as he could,and counted 1, 2,

莫迪紧紧闭上了双眼， 竭尽全力的握着石头，数着1，2，

The crab wizard was right! The shot was finished.The Brave Monkey Pirate was now immune to scurvy and some other stuff.

螃蟹精果然是对的！打针结束了，勇敢的海盗猴现在对败血病什么的都有免疫力了。

And he had ice cream on the way home.

而且，在回家的路上，他得到了冰激凌。
