众星齐聚公益活动 “水果姐”获殊荣

The stars of Glee, The New Normal, The Vampire Diaries, Revenge and a slew of others came out in support of the Trevor Live event last night (December 02, 2012), honoring Katy Perry and Audi of America for The Trevor Project held at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.

The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth.

Celebrities such as Amy Poehler, Anna Kendrick, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Gabriel Mann and others were on hand to watch Katy Perry, who sparkled in a Marchesa gown, accept her award for championing gay rights.

She is quoted by as saying, “I grew up in a very intolerant environment. For a long time, I was told that people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning were an abomination. As I’ve grown up, I’ve freed myself from the mindset.”“There was some perspective growth in my family. I believe in change… I believe that sexuality is fluid – nobody introduces me as, ‘This is Katy Perry, she is straight.’ I hope in the future that we will all grow beyond labels, beyond treating gays as a novelty friend group.”
