Out of the Furnace is an upcoming American thriller film, directed by Scott Cooper, from a screenplay written by Cooper and Brad Ingelsby, and produced by Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio. This is a second collaboration between Scott and DiCaprio, as they collaborated for the first time on Body of Lies. The film stars Christian Bale, Forest Whitaker, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck and Zoe Saldana, and tells the story of two brothers from an economically depressed mill town in the Rust Belt. The elder brother lands in prison, while the younger becomes involved with a violent Northeastern crime syndicate. Relativity Media is producing the film which will receive a limited release in the U.S. on November 27, 2013, followed by a wider theatrical release on December 6.
