"Elementary" is adding another iconic character to its modern take on Sherlock Holmes, landing Natalie Dormer as Sherlock's former love Irene Adler.

Dormer is set for a three episode arc leading up to the two-hour season finale on May 9. Her arrival may unlock some of the mysteries of Sherlock's past. The CBS press release touting Dormer's casting describes Adler as "Sherlock's first and only love in London.
