1. I’ll be back in a flash.

I’m gonna buy some ice cream. Stay here. I’ll be back in a flash.

2. I can’t argue with this.

He is the best interpreter here. Who can argue with this?

3. Ok, you see? This is the case in point.

Notes:例句中的“case”在此处是名词,指“实例”;短语“in point”表示“恰当的,合适的”;“a case in point”自然就是“恰当的例子”。例如:

The world is changing dramatically. A case in point is the invention of artificial intelligence.

4. Look. I’m going to be straight with you. You’ll burn through the rest of your runway, no one will step in, then you will go bust.

Notes:“be straight with”这个口语表达指“对……

What’s on earth happening here? Be straight with me, please.

Starting your own business is not easy. What would you do if you go bust?

5. Here’s the headline: there’s a lot right with it. A lot of good stuff in there.

“Here’s the headline.”

Here’s the headline. It’s a fantastic picture book for adults.

6. God, I can’t win with that.

Notes:“win with that”也是个口语里的习惯表达,表示“会赢的”。“I can’t win with that.” 如果你在讨论某件事时(总)赢不了,就可以使用这个句子“I can’t win with that.”
