A: The teacher was really upset about that broken window. Thank goodness Tommie has a reputation as a sincere, honest boy.
B: If he had not been straightforward with her, we would have all been in trouble.
A: He was direct and said we were all throwing snowballs and really didn’t know who had hit the window and he apologized.
B: Because of his candid response and childlike frankness she couldn’t be angry.
