1. come clean

come clean的意思是“全盘招供；和盘托出”。

I thought it was time to come clean (with everybody) about what I'd been doing.
我认为到时候了，该（向大家）说清楚我一直在干些什么。

和clean相关的一个搭配还有make a clean breast of it，也是全盘招供的意思。

Julia finally made a clean breast of it and admitted that she had stolen the money.
朱莉娅最终坦白了，承认是她偷了钱。

2. dwell on 

sick of就是“对…厌恶”的意思，dwell是live的高级替换表达，表示“居住，栖身”。

而dwell on sth可不是住在哪里，它的意思是“老是想着，一直在说（尤指不好或令人不快之事）”。

In his speech, he dwelt on the plight of the sick and the hungry.
演讲时他一直在说遭受疾病和饥饿折磨的人们所处的困境。

3. lay into sb

lay into sb的意思是痛打；斥责（某人），后面搭配about表示原因。

这个短语和light into意思差不多，都表示“痛打；口头上中伤”。

In the middle of the meeting she suddenly laid into him for no apparent reason.
在会上她突然无缘无故地把他训斥了一顿。
