这个词的译法也是多种多样，我们在翻译之前可以先弄明白它的中文基本意思。一般来说有两种意思：
* 表示碍于情面而只能怎样或不便怎样  find it embarrassing (to do sth.)
不好意思推辞  find it difficult to refuse
不好意思再问  hesitate to ask again
* 害羞；难为情  embarrassed; ill at ease
让你久等了，真不好意思。
I’m sorry to have kept you waiting.
她被夸得不好意思了。
She felt embarrassed by so much praise.
很显然，选段中的“不好意思”应该属于第二种释义。ill at ease其实也是一个惯用语，用来表示“不好意思”，“局促不安”等。如：
我穿着这样正式的衣服觉得很拘谨。
I felt ill at ease in such formal clothes.

point表时间
