场景一

everyone:Hi Johnny!
大家：你好，卓尼！

Johnny:Hello everyone!
卓尼：大家好！

everyone:We were just talking about Christmas.
大家：我们刚才正在讨论关于圣诞节安排呢。

场景二

Sarah:Me and Magda will be on our own for Christmas.
莎拉：我和美格达将自由安排圣诞节。

Johnny:Me too. There is no way I can go back to Brazil!
卓尼：我也是。现在已经回不去巴西了。

Sarah:That's a long way.
莎拉：距离太远了。

场景三

Carlos:I've got an idea. If Fadi and Olivia can ask Tony to open the cafe, I'll cook a proper Christmas dinner for everyone! I love cooking.
卡洛斯：我有一个主意。如果法蒂和奥利华可以说通托尼让咖啡店开门，我就会为大家下厨制作圣诞大餐。我喜欢烹饪。

Magda:Good idea, in Poland we have a twelve-course meal at Christams.
美格达：好主意，在波兰，圣诞节时我们会吃12道大餐。

Carlos: Twelve courses! Wow, that's a lot.

Carlos:I'll try and make some traditional Polish food for you and Magda, and perhaps something special for you too, Sarah, I'd like that.

Sarah:That's very kind, but don't try to make Chinese food for me! It's difficult. Make one of your own specialities-I love trying new things.
莎拉：那样的话就太好了，但是不用为我尝试做中国菜了，那个太难了。做你的拿手菜就好。我喜欢尝试新鲜事物。

Fadi:What's that?
法蒂：那是什么？
Magda: Nobody has asked Tony!
美格达：还没人问过托尼呢！
carlos: You're on! There is a problem though.
卡洛斯：好，就这么定了。尽管现在还是个问题。

You're on! 是一个俚语，表示对别人意见的肯定。一般翻译为“好，就这么定了。”

场景六

Oliva:Tony!
奥利华：托尼！

Tony: Yeah?
托尼：怎么了？

Oliva: What are you doing for Christmas?
奥利华：圣诞节有什么打算？

Tonty:Why?
托尼:有事吗？

Olivia: We wanted to invite you to have Christmas with us!
奥利华：我们想邀请你和我们一同过圣诞节。

场景七

Tony:Well, well, that's very kind of you, thank you, yes.
托尼：好，好。你们真是太好了，谢谢了。

Olivia: Just one thing.
奥利华：不过有一件事……

Tony:What's that?
托尼：什么事？

Olivia:Erm, we'd like to have our Christmas here!
奥利华：我们想在这里过圣诞节。

What's that 在口语中经常翻译为“什么事，怎么了？”一般不翻译为“那是什么？”

场景八

Tony:Here?
托尼：这里吗？

Olivia:Yes, here.
奥利华：是这里。

Tony:Hmm, OK, but I'm not washing the dishes afterwards!
托尼：好的，但是饭后我不洗碗。

Fadi: Deal!
法蒂：好的，就这么定了。

Johnny:This is going to be the best Christmas party ever!
卓尼：这将是有史以来最好的圣诞节了。
