Senator-elect Scott Brown told Barbara Walters that he hopes Simon Cowell will have his daughter, Ayla, back on American Idol.

In an EXCLUSIVE “This Week” interview, Walters asked Brown about his daughter’s appearance as a contestant on the hit reality show in which Cowell called the aspiring singer’s performance “robotic” and “empty”.

Brown said his daughter grew from the experience and, “Ayla actually respects Simon greatly about his critiquing even though he's kind of harsh, what he says -- if you actually listen to what he says, it was right.”
