Report on Road Accidents in America The chart organizes data about road accidents involving children in America by age and by when and where the accidents occurred.

For all ages, the most common situation leading to an accident is playing in the street but young children were particularly affected. Children between the ages of 4--6 seemed to get into accidents while engaging in activities appropriate to their age, such as shopping for their parents or going home from school. Children between 7--10 had the most accidents cycling in the street. After age 10, the number of accidents dropped considerably in all situations.

The chart demonstrates that playing in the street is the most common and universal site of accidents for all ages, but the risks that other situations present vary with the children's ages.
