mansongyunye

A clever man may not be wise, but a wise man must be of a certain degree of cleverness.

Cleverness and wisdom are like twins, but there are essential differences between them.

When we say that someone is clever, we are not admiring his wisdom, for cleverness can be misleading. It may overreach itself. However, a wise person never suffers for his wisdom. Even if he is not clever, he knows himself well and makes a clear distinction between right and wrong.

"Clever" is a word we use to praise a person who is shrewd and smart to deal with problems, while "wise" is the one we use to show our admiration for the personality of one who makes efforts in all his life and never stops improving himself.

If cleverness is a spark that lights up the beautiful sky in our lives, then wisdom must be a great ocean, extensive and profound, reflecting the brilliance of the civilization of human society, which has a history of thousands of years.

Between cleverness and wisdom, I prefer the latter.
